(or "The Evil That Is A Giant Paper Snake Thing")

Type: Normal Dream

I was running around my garden, trying to avoid this... evil presence thing that kept trying to kill me. And my Mum. And my sister. And my cats. (The cats were better at hiding than anyone else...) It was like someone was chasing me, and I had to keep hiding from them or else I'd be killed. (This appears to be a recurring theme in my dreams...)

Eventually, Mum realised that we were out of milk and that someone had to go out and buy some. She and I agreed to go together (leaving Emma, Caper and Tigger to defend themselves...) but I suddenly had a vision/prophecy/realisation type thing that whoever went would be gobbled up by the evil menace thing that kept creating demons with guns. Therefore, I chickened out at the last minute, and Mum went to get milk and got killed. sadblauw I peeked out from behind the "safety" (which was none too safe) of my gate to try and see our enemy, and it was a huge snake/person hybrid made out of what looked like paper and sticks (mostly paper). It noticed me watching and sent evil spirits after me.

I ran fast and hid in a huge grassy patch behind a flimsy tree in the backyard, but the longer I remained there I realised that it was a very bad hiding place and that I was in plain view of the demon (which resembled a WW2 Japanese soldier, or at least what they look like on ABC dramatisations like Changi) who was carrying a bludgeon! It also started raining. I became really terrified as he approached and started crying. Then, he got distracted by Tigger changing hiding position and went after him. I took the opportunity to run quickly to the narrow path at the side of the house, before realising I had to find Emma, too. I found Emma and returned stealthily to the path, where Tigger was now sleeping.

"Come on, Emma," I said, "we have to climb the wall. We're not safe here!"

Emma sulked, but I ignored her and started to climb. It was hard because the horizontal planks were few and far between, but I knew I couldn't just go around the front or else the evil papersnakeman would get me!

"Be careful, Jess!" Emma suddenly cried. I finally got to the top of the fence and turned over. It was still raining and I didn't want to slip. I dropped down on the other side of the fence and told Emma to come over too. She did, even slower than I had. Then Tigger got over in about two seconds flat.

We ran to a side door in our neighbours' house, where we narrowly avoided being shot by another Japanese soldier demon. We stumbled inside, where at least a dozen people were sheltering inside the house.

Anthula (our neighbour IRL as well) served some cheesecake to everyone but me. I sulked in silence for a while, then said, "Pardon me for expecting anything, but why don't I get a serve of my favourite food when everyone else does?" Anthula got mad at me and kicked me out of her house. (IRL, she's much nicer.) It was still waiting, and then I noticed papersnakeman---which was now paperdragonman---drifting through the front door of their house. I reasoned that since paperdragonman was inside and not in the street, he couldn't see me run home, so I ran around the front instead of climbing the fence again.

In my driveway, a strange man in a pale suit stood, and I instinctively knew that this man wasn't a scary demon conjured up by papersnakeman/paperdragonman. I asked him what he was doing in my driveway, and he said he was there to help.

"Bit too late," I said sadly. "The thing just went inside our neighbours' house and killed everyone." I then listened closely, and heard a door opening.

"We have to hide!" I exclaimed suddenly, and ducked behind a flimsy tree as paperdragonman floated past our driveway. He seemed to ignore us, despite the fact that the man was in plain view of him (maybe we were so silent he didn't remember to check ).

The man then walked up to me, and said, "I can help you escape forever."

I smiled uncertainly. "Sure," I said, in a manner which suggested I didn't believe him.

"No, I'm telling the truth," the man told me. "I have a sort of ship, you see... we can literally just disappear."

I was confused, but I was also wet and didn't want to die like everyone else. "Okay," I said finally.

The man led me out from the tree, and suddenly the dream was in third person mode, and I looked at least five years older than I am now. I could see a large cuboid, at least eight feet high, which he and I stepped into. It then disappeared, and my dream ended.

When I woke up, at first I wasn't really aware of it. Then Mum started talking to me, so I knew I had. And that's all my post-sleep comments...

Where are scissors when you need them? (paperdragonman)

That's an interesting ending. Too bad it just woke you up though. But, that is the best way out of a dream, isn't it?
