We're all at Dairy Queen, and my dad is eating some french fries. He notices there's a dead wasp (we called them wasps, but even in the dream I thought they looked more like hornets) in the fries. He pushes past it, but finds another and another and another, until he calls the manager over, demanding another box of fries without wasps. The manager says because dad ate most of the fries he won't replace them. We call over the next higher manager, but he supports his subordinate on the matter. At this point I leave.
*Skip* I'm walking back from Chickfila, and it's pitch black out except for what the street lights illuminate. I'm on the phone with my mother, and even she agrees with the DQ employees. I say I'm not going to let it go, and hang up. I'm going to call the regional manager, and if he doesn't do anything, I'll call [whoever does the inspections and such for the restaurants, I called it the Food Safety Administration in the dream, but I don't think that exists IRL].
Suddenly it starts raining, and I don't know how to get back to where everyone else was. I pull my hood up over my head and continue walking. I walk for a while until it eventually stops raining, and I look around, making sure no one is following me. I pull out a small scalpel that I was carrying and clutch it in my hand, just in case. I figure that I'll just head back to my house instead of finding them.
*Skip* Eventually I come upon a hotel and decide to stop there to rest for a while. I have a conversation I don't remember with someone in the lobby, and eventually he tells me that there are seats and free food in the elevator. I go in and see M&Ms, peanuts, and something else in metal bowls on small wooden tables next to black leather chairs. I sit down on one and take a handful of whatever was in the bowl next to me. *Skip* A well dressed black man asks me when I'm getting off, because he is homeless and he isn't getting off the elevator. I look at the panel on the elevator which reads that it's on the 67th floor. I tell him that at the moment I've got no place to go any more than he does, and he nods and turns around.
